I wanna be a part of BA, Buenos Aires, Big Apple. So went the song from Evita serenading the magic of an enchanting city that to date is more European than South American, where tux and gown are as ubiquitous as steak and malbec, coffee and croissants. Not to mention the sensuous sounds of tango into the dead of the night, permeating smoke filled bars, leafy public plazas and night time cafes and theaters

(Left) The obelisk on Ave de 9 July, one of the widest roads in the world at 7 lanes either way, is a sight to behold. (Right) Other parts of BA show simpler architecture, colors blended with simplicity.

(Left) BA is known for its parillas (pronounced pa-ree-ja), open-fire hearths and steakhouses where delicate cuts of meat are grilled to perfection. (Right) Puente de la Mujer - the woman's bridge, shaped to evoke a tango dancing pair, brightens up Puerto Madero, BA's main seaport.

And tango dancing - from spontaneous milongas to elaborate mid-night events.
