Under the watchful eyes of the town griphon, the Bremen plaza with the town hall and St. Peter's Cathedral has evolved relatively little over 1200 years. Now a major port on the River Weser and an industrial powerhouse, Bremen also serves as the start of the Fairy Tale Road in Germany, that winds through the terrains of the Pied Piper at Hamlin, the castle inspiration for Rapunzel at Trundleburg, the Cinderella castle in Sababurg, and the abode of the Brothers Grimm at Hanau.
