Located along the slopes of Mount Parnassus with impressive sweeping views of the valley below and the blue waters of the Corinth sea shimmering in the distance, Delphi is one of the most significant historical sites worldwide, dating back to 1400 BC. Legend goes that Zeus released two eagles from opposite ends of the universe in a quest to find its center. The eagles converged onto Delphi, which became the `navel' where heaven and earth met. This is where Apollo slew Python, where the Oracle predicted the future of kings and kingdoms, and the Pythian games were held every four years as a precursor to the modern Olympics.

Built around 370 BC, the Tholos at the base of Mt. Parnassus was the site of the Delphic Oracle.
