The Gothic Church of our Lady, Frauenkirche, was built in the late 1400s, and has unique domelike features atypical of European churches (inspired, in fact, by the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem, which in turn hailed from late Byzantine architecture).

The legend goes that the Devil made a
deal with the builder that the church was
supposed to have no windows. The builder
erected a series of columns so that the
windows were obscured to the devil. When
the devil found out, he furiously stomped
his feet, leading to a devil's footstep seen
to this day, and created the strong winds
that still rage outside the church
