At 81 storeys high and overlooking the sizzling Seine river, the Iron Lady or the Eiffel Tower epitomizes romance -- instantly conjuring up images of quaint Parisian bistros, the aroma of freshly made baguettes and soft accordion music in the background. Ironically however, upon its creation during the 1889 World Fair, it evoked intense negative reaction from luminaries such as Alexander Dumas and Guy de Maupassant. Not today.
