The city of Alpnachstadt adjoining the sapphire Lake Lucerne serves as the starting point for Pilatus Kulm, the world's steepest cogwheel railway.

Lake Lucerne

Pilatus Kulm - the world's
steepest cogwheel railway
The train runs along an incredible
48 degree incline
Amidst verdant carpeted hills, wildflowers and cowbells

View of Lake Lucerne from the top - not much has changed over the 30 years since my last visit.

Enthralling views from the window Or from above

The flower bedecked, art adorned, once burned but now newly restored Kapellbrucke
is one of the most beautiful bridges in the world, at par with Charles Bridge in Prague,
Golden Gate bridge in San Francisco and Rialto Bridge in Venice.
