Journey to Semuc Champey

Finally we reach the town of Semuc Champey near the river Cahabón - spectacular in scenery

Our first discovery upon reaching our idyllic hotel is that they do not have electricity for much of the day (thanks booking.com!!) - The views and ceviche however were quite lovely. Fancy that - hot water, electricity not present, but shrimp cocktails - but of course!!





The sister hotel back in Lanquín the next day was better - basic amenities plus a well stocked bar with a bartender intent on drinking competition!





Video: A really difficult climb up and down the hills takes us to the top where we get a view of the green cascades.
