Two hundred year old silk cottonwood trees have swallowed many of the 12th century buildings, channeling some kind of arboreal equivalent of the endoparasite from the movie "Alien".


The trees spread their limbs all around, sometimes delicately like fragile
pleated skirts, at other times ravenously like the death grip from a python's coils
War of the Worlds redux!
